KUCHING: The Director of Sarawak Tropical Peat Research Institute (TROPI), Dr Lulie Meling hosted a Gawai open-house on the second day of Gawai.

The open-house which began at 9pm was held at her residence in Jalan Arang here.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg was among the guests at the open house. Johari was welcomed by Lulie, her husband James Chabu, son Jared Jimbau Chabu and Jared’s grandmother, Catherine Nanang.

Among those present were Johari’s elder brother Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg, who is also the President of the Sarawak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the President of Samling Group of Companies, Tan Sri Dr Yaw Teck Seng.
