KUCHING: A former state soccer player John Hunter recently led a group of Australian golfers to play a friendly game among themselves  at Damai Golf and Country Club (DGCC) here recently.

“We would like to thank him for bringing along his friends to play at our club during their short stay here,” said Roslan, adding that the visitors came to know DGCC through news reports on the club hosting last year’s Asian Tour (AT) and Asian Development Tour (ADT) where some Australian golfers took part.

“John Hunter is also very good at golf and we are happy to note that he and his friends have enjoyed their stay at DGCC.

“We hope they will come back again,” Roslan said, adding that John was a member of the State team which  clinched  the 1992 FA Cup.
