KUCHING: Shan Charity Night, a mixture of art and fashion show, will be held on March 5 at The Spring Mall here.
Co-organised by GOG Ideas and 852 Film, the event will showcase local talents in fashion design, jewellery making, and the arts.
Project manager Smyth Wong said aside from empowering the local talents, the event also aims at providing help to the underprivileged.
“This charity is to help raise funds for kids from poor Chinese families to pursue their educations.
“This is also to help ease the burden faced by the families of the Chinese community, including monetary means to buy basic necessities, pay bills, and improve overall living conditions,” he told a press conference at Li Garden Restaurant in CityOne Megamall here today (Feb 19).
According to Wong, the funds collected will go to a selected non-profit charity that helps underprivileged children, orphans, and teens.
The event will feature a fashion show by Sarawak fashion designers, namely TeeCode, Tangoo, Yacutha, Keith Sim, Outdwell, and Pungu Borneo; a photo gallery by Edwin Ong; and an art gallery by Angelina Bong.
There will also be music performances by Chien Chien, Raquel, Ivan, Nick, Eddies, Ke Tong, and Meruked.
There will also be special appearances by international stars, namely Josie Ho and Conroy Chan from Hong Kong, Atiqah Hasiholan and Samo Rafael from Indonesia, and Shaheizy Sam and Bront Palarae from Malaysia.
The following beauty queens will also appear as special guests: Amber Chia, Larissa Ping (Miss World Malaysia 2018), Wenanita Angang (Miss World Malaysia 2022), Tee Wan Ying (Miss Universe Malaysia 2022), and Saphire Wong (Miss Cheongsam Malaysia 2016).
