KUCHING: Sarawakian Johan ‘Jojo’ Ghazali will be fighting for Malaysians as he carries the national flag into the ONE Championship 168 bout.

“I am looking forward to carrying the Malaysian flag halfway across the earth. At the end of the day, this is what I fight for.

“When I am in pain and feel like giving up, the only thing I think about is the fans and Malaysians. Representing Malaysia is everything,” said the national muaythai champion and ONE Championship star in a pre-match fight video.

He will take his first step toward redemption against Josue Cruz from Mexico in Denver, Colorado, on Friday (Sept 6).

In his previous fight, Jojo was defeated by five-time WMF muaythai world champion Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat from Vietnam.

Jojo, whose full name is Muhamad Johan Ghazali Zulfikar, has been actively updating his over 370,000 Instagram followers on his fight preparations.

In a recent Instagram post, the 17-year-old was seen donning a green Baju Melayu, showcasing his national pride and heritage for the ONE Championship media day.
