KOTA SAMARAHAN: Twenty-eight media practitioners from 13 agencies participated in a shooting competition in conjunction with ‘A Day with the Media’ organised by the Eastern Field Command (EFC) at Muara Tuang Camp here yesterday.

Its commander Lt Gen Datuk Wira Zamrose Mohd Zain said the programme was held to foster closer ties between the media and the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF).

He added the event also helped to enhance the image of the MAF among the media, on top of providing exposure and experience to members of the media about the duties and functions of the armed forces.

“We also took this opportunity to spend time with the rest of the personnel.

“We hope that with the existing ties, the media will continue to provide news coverage for us and all the MAF divisions,” he said during the event’s closing ceremony.

During the competition, participants were divided into groups consisting of media practitioners and EFC personnel.
