MIRI: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) yesterday dismissed allegations that it only acted against the owner of modified Yamaha Y15ZR or popularly known as “Ysuku” motorcycles during enforcement operations.
JPJ director-general Datuk Seri Shaharuddin Khalid said during enforcement operations, the department would focus on all types of vehicles modified not according to specifications.
“JPJ will take action against all types of motorcycles that are modified not according to the specifications set, not only Ysuku,” he told at a press conference here yesterday.
In another development, he said, the latest mechanism to address the leakage of revenue generated from the Motor Vehicle License (LKM) would be known early next year.
“JPJ is currently working with the Customs Department and other agencies to find a solution to the problem,” he said. – Bernama
