SIBU: The Jum Regista programme is being held in order for entrepreneurs, especially in rural areas, to formalise their business.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan emphasised that efforts to formalise a business were part of the catalyst for Sarawak to move into digital economy.

“By signing up their business, entrepreneurs will have a chance to enjoy aid from the government and financial institutions and are able to explore other prospects.”

He then revealed that this year, the programme had been held in Bintulu and Serian.

“In Bintulu, there are about 133 entrepreneurs who signed up while in Serian, there are 125 entrepreneurs who had signed up,” he said at the launch of the Jum Registar programme here on Tuesday (June 14).

“As of now, over 1,600 entrepreneurs had been assisted. The state government is always working hard to produce successful local entrepreneurs.

“If the entrepreneurs maintain their commitment to work hard and improve themselves, I believe that they can break into the global market.”
