KAPIT: Chief Minister’s wife Datin Amar DatoJuma’ani TunTuanku Bujang on Wednesday announced an allocation of RM63,000 to SK Kampung Baru during her working visit to the school.

Of the allocation, RM20,000 was from SABATI (Ministers and Assistant Ministers’ Wives Association), RM20,000 from the Pusat Khidmat Petra Jaya, RM20,000 from herself and another RM3,000 cash for the ‘Program Pendidikan Khas Integrasi SK Kampung Baru respectively.

Earlier upon arrival, Juma’ani and her entourage were given a warm welcome by the school pupils, teachers and parents. A welcoming dance was performed by Primary Six pupils of the school.

Her visit to the school was to officiate at the ‘Majlis Penyampaian Bantuan Sekolah’ to its 435 pupils. The assistance was in the form of school bags and writing materials including pens, pencils and exercise books

Accompanying Juma’ani for the school visit were Song District Officer Jackline August, Datin Angelina Celestine Ujang (wife of Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, Datin Leyta Kupa (wife of Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong), Rosnie Bilong (wife of Liwan Lagang),Seriah Thomas (wife of Wilson Nyabong Ijang) and Nancy Kuyor (wife of Jefferson Jamit Unyat), Pemanca Haji Wasli Nor, Penghulu Abang Hamzah Bolhassan, Penghulu and Wong Kie Ing.

Meanwhile the school’s headmaster Sham Sepah in his welcoming speech gave a brief account of the school history.

SK Kampung Baru began in 1967 with the first enrolment of 27 pupils.

The present school was erected in 1985 with195 pupils and eleven teachers.

Today, the school has 465 pupils from pre-school (kindergarten) to Primary Six with 45 teachers and 13 supporting staff.
