SIBU: The renovation works of Juma’ani Tuanku Haji Bujang Welfare Complex (KKJTHB) Sibu are now 100 per cent completed.
According to PERYATIM Sibu EXCO chairman Datuk Mohamad Yusnar Matalie the welfare complex received a total of RM1.7 million in funds last year for repair work purposes.
“Alhamdulillah, the Sarawak government is quite concerned about us here. The Premier of Sarawak is quite concerned about his wife as patron of PERYATIM Sarawak,” he said at the Juma’ani Tuanku Haji Bujang Sibu Welfare Complex Dinner, yesterday (Dec 10) night.
He called on all the children living in the complex to appreciate whatever facilities have been worked on and provided.
“Don’t let the really bad culture of vandalism take root in us. It is our responsibility to take good care of every facility that has been provided in this complex,” he said.
He stressed that they should realise how fortunate they are and how thankful they are for the blessings and sustenance that Allah SWT has bestowed upon them.
“This is one of the achievements that have now been achieved in this complex. Apart from the infrastructure achievements, the children’s achievements are also very important.
“There are children from this complex who represented Sarawak up to the national level such as in Pencak Silat, so this is an extraordinary achievement that had never happened before.
“Although there are shortcomings there is a strong desire to work hard. We want the children in this complex in the future and beyond to make a name for themselves, their families, this complex, and PERYATIM in particular.
“I appeal to all the children not to waste time during these school holidays; please review all the subjects available, and don’t forget to pray five times a day and recite the Quran,” he said.
