KUCHING: Premier of Sarawak’s wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang paid a courtesy visit on the wife of Sabah Head of State, Toh Puan Datuk Seri Dr Norlidah Datuk RM Jasni at Istana Negeri, Kota Kinabalu Sabah, today.

The courtesy visit was held in conjunction with Juma’ani’s two-day official visit to Sabah until tomorrow (June 10).

The Premier’s wife and her entourage arrived in  Kota Kinabalu on June 8. They were warmly welcomed by the wife of Sabah Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) speaker, Datuk Norani Salleh, the wife of the Minister of Rural Development Sabah Datuk Malianah Ugau, wife of Sabah government secretary, Datuk Dr Nuinda Alias, Sabah’s Deputy State Secretary   Diyanah Abdullah and other officers from the Sabah state government.

During the official visit, the development of the songket and keringkam textile industry in Sarawak and the importance of preserving and conserving the food heritage and textiles were discussed.

The delegates accompanying Juma’ani during the visit included  Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, Deputy State Secretary Datuk Sabariah Putit  and chairwoman of Sarawak Media Group Datuk Norhayati Ismail.

The courtesy visit lasted for an hour before they moved to Perre Irra Hall for lunch.

Hasidah also invited Norlidah to visit Sarawak.

That evening, Juma’ani and her entourage attended a dinner organised by the Sabah state government at the Sabah International Convention Centre. The event was attended by government officials.
