BAU: It is just another political ploy by the opposition to say that Barisan Nasional (BN) will develop a stable government after the 15th general election (GE15) with full support from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), said Datuk Dr Annuar Rapa’ee.
The vice president of Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB) said that the statement by Pakatan Harapan (PH) was just one of the ways to deceive the voters.
“I’m asking this to them back — is it true that there is agreement between president of BN, Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi and chairman of PH, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim?
“Can they tell me if it is true? Prove to me that there is no secret agreement between them.
“And yet, here you are, came out with a statement that said we have an agreement with them,” he said.
The Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development also hit out at the claim that UMNO would free former Prime Minister Najib Razak if it won and if GPS won.
“It’s ridiculous and misleading. Come on, we have law and order. We have separation of power.
“GPS got nothing to do with the court decision. Do not be silly, please,” he said.
He said this when asked by the reporters after the dialogue sessions with the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Serumbu primary school today.
Dr Annuar then said that in the previous 14th general election (GE14), PH also released Anwar from prison when it was running the country.
“Who released him from prison in the first place? Not us. GPS did not do it,” he added.
Earlier, a statement released by Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sarawak urged Sarawakians to vote for its candidates in the upcoming election.
It said that support for GPS would make UMNO and BN run the country again.
