KUCHING: Only one new cluster was reported by the State Health Department on Friday (Sept 10).

The cluster, namely the Suchong Balut cluster in Julau is a community cluster, involving residents of two longhouses located in the Sungai Suchong Balut area in Julau District.

SDMC said that of the 78 people who were screened, 62 including the index case tested positive for Covid-19, 13 tested negative and three are still waiting for results.

All positive cases are now receiving treatment at Sarikei Hospital and Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) in Sarikei District.

The committee also reported the end of seven clusters, namely the Dabai Baruh cluster in Saratok, Jalan Sungai Maong, Kampung Tupong, Jalan Foochow, Besi Dua, Stapok 2 Placement Scheme, and Jalan Rubber Dua clusters in Kuching after no new cases were recorded involving these cluster in the last 28 days.

Presently, there are 141 active clusters in the state, with 24 clusters recording 208 new additional cases and the other 117 clusters recorded no new cases.

On the status of districts, the committee stated that Tanjung Manis District had changed from green to yellow status after recording 11 new local infection cases and that Marudi District had returned from red to yellow status after recording 18 new local infection cases.

To date, the state has 35 red zone districts, one orange zone district, four yellow zone districts, and none in green zone districts.
