SINGER-songwriter Kaka Azraff recently expressed her frustration after Warner Music Malaysia terminated her contract without any clear reason.

The 34-year-old “Bukan Hal Aku” hitmaker stated that she had no qualms about taking legal action against Warner Music Malaysia if they can’t reach a proper agreement.

“As one of the longest artistes signed with Warner Music Malaysia, I believe that I need to be given an official reason as to why they have decided to end the contract,” she said.

Stressing that she was not at all affected by the termination as she believed in fate, Kaka said that she was only hurt by the fact that there was no explanation despite the 30-day notice.

“The company and I did meet before, but I didn’t sign the letter because I had to speak to my lawyer first. They stressed that my action went against their global policy,” she said.

The termination came after Australian actor Nathaniel Buzzolic accused her of hate speech following a direct message she sent to him, criticising him for his stance on the genocide against Palestinians. She was later listed by the Jew Hate Database as an antisemite.

“I am not antisemitic, nor am I racist, like he said. I was just expressing my personal opinion to the individual. It wasn’t even a public comment. I admit that I was a bit harsh, but it was to show my anger at the time, even now, as we watch the injustice and violence that are happening in Gaza,” she said.
