SARATOK: Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri has stressed the importance of nurturing a culture of love for the Quran within the community, highlighting ongoing initiatives aimed at integrating the Quran into daily life.
He noted that while various efforts have been made to promote Quran appreciation, challenges remain in strengthening the community’s understanding and reverence for the Quran.
“Efforts to instil a culture of Quran love and recitation must persist, starting from within the family unit. Closer engagement with and understanding of the Quran’s teachings can inspire personal and familial advancement and success,” he remarked.
Speaking at the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for Year Six students of SK Abang Abdul Rahman at Al-Muhtadin Mosque on today (Jan 29), Mohamad commended the school’s initiative, stressing the significance of such programmes in fostering Quran appreciation among Muslim communities.
“The dissemination of Islamic values through Quran appreciation programmes can also be extended to non-Muslim communities, allowing them to appreciate the beauty and essence of Islam.”
Mohamad congratulated the 107 students who successfully completed reading the Quran, lauding the organisers for their efforts in hosting the event.
“I wholeheartedly support initiatives like this organised by schools. As a gesture of support, I have approved a Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant of RM30,000 for SK Abang Abdul Rahman to address its needs.”
