KUCHING: Kampung Bintawa Ulu and Tengah will come under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) beginning today (Mar 16) until Mar 29.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) announced this in a press statement on Monday (Mar 15).
“The EMCO for Kampung Bintawa, Kuching is effective from Mar 16 at 12.01am to Mar 29 at 11.59pm.
“This decision was made in view of the increasing number of positive cases in the village,” said the committee.
It added it had decided to allow the operations of the Urban Transformation Centres (UTCs) throughout the state from tomorrow (Mar 17).
“Starting on Mar 17, UTCs in Kuching, Sibu and Miri will be allowed to operate according to office hours from 8.00am to 5.00pm,” it explained.
Last month, UTCs were temporarily closed to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the red zones.
This was in line with the decision of the SDMC to extend conditional movement control order (CMCO) from Feb 15 to Mar 1 in view of the increasing number of positive Covid-19 cases in the state.
