KUCHING: A new cluster — the Kampung Kendaie Cluster —has been declared in Lundu District.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said 48 individuals were screened in which 23 were positive for Covid-19. The rest were negative.
All infected individuals were admitted to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and Low-Risk Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC) here for isolation and further treatment.
SDMC also announced on Monday (July 12) the end of the Sungai Penyerai Cluster in Tatau District as no new cases were reported there in the last 28 days.
SDMC also noted that of the 100 active clusters in Sarawak, eight recorded 44 new cases while the rest did not record any cases.
In addition, Lundu District’s status has changed to red after recording 59 new cases while Dalat District changed to orange after recording 22 new cases.
On the other hand, Sebauh District changed to yellow after recording 18 cases in the last 14 days.
Sarawak now has 21 districts in the red zone, five in the orange zone, and 13 in the yellow zone while only one is still green.
