KUCHING: Kampung Tematu residents are advised to continue complying with enhanced movement control order (EMCO) standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang believes by doing so, the EMCO period, which ends in another seven days, will not be extended.
“The first screening test detected five positive cases, and two more cases were reported the day before yesterday.
“Kampung Tematu is inhabited by 189 families and so far, only seven positive cases have been detected.
“I’m confident this will not be a big problem and all residents will be safe (from Covid-19 infection) if all of you continue to follow SOPs strictly,” he said after witnessing the distribution of food aid to the residents on Tuesday (July 6).
One hundred and ninety fresh chickens, donated by the Sarawak Chinese Association Federal Disaster Relief Team, were handed over to the village ketua kaum Geofrey Tahang.
Lo said all 189 families had received food aid from the government as well as the public since the first day of the EMCO.
He thanked the public who had extended assistance to the residents in the area.
