KAPIT: Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat yesterday (Oct 10) presented awards to the winners of various competitions held in conjunction with the National Sports Day celebration here.

Kumpulan Gelima 79 took home RM200 in cash and trophies from the RC Mini Powerboat Race competition held by Wira Kapit Recreational Sports Club in partnership with Kapit Adventure Recreation Club at Monaco Pool, Bleteh Industrial Site on Saturday.

Acting Resident of Kapit Division Galong Luang said yesterday, “Since the end of September, the Kapit Division Youth and Sports Office has hosted a number of hybrid events, with emphasis on online activities, including a 10km Virtual Run, PUBG e-Sports Competition, KBS Freestyle Football Competition, Sepak Takraw Clinic, as well as RC Mini Powerboat Race, which was held physically at Monaco Pool in Bleteh Industrial Park.

“The presence of Covid-19 did not break the spirit of the ministry and department to organise such celebration this year despite having to adapt some changes such as reducing the physical presence of participants at the events.”

Participants who took part in the Myfit@Home aerobics at the Kapit Division State Government Complex in Bleteh.

On Sunday morning, 50 people, including civil workers and members of the youth clubs, sports clubs, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), also participated in the National Sports Day Myfit@Home aerobics Malaysian Family event held in tandem with the event’s opening ceremony at the Kapit Division State Government Complex in Bleteh.

The National Sports Day opening ceremony in Kapit was also broadcast live on the official Facebook page of Kapit Division Youth and Sports Office.

Also present during the event were Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Nicholas Kudi Jantai, Kapit District Officer Cerisologo Sabut and other department heads.
