BETONG: The central zone representative, Kapit Division has withdrawn their participation in the Futsal Tournament (Men & Women) Under-20 for the Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah Cup 2017.
Tournament coordinator, Scott Liman said their withdrawal from the tournament held at Tan Sri Datuk Amar Stephen Kalong Ningkan, Betong from August 25 to 27 involves both men’s and women’s teams.
“The Kapit division teams had to withdraw in the last minute due to unforeseen problems,” Scott said.
According to Scott, with the absence of Kapit Division this time other teams do not change any position in the groups.
The early draw saw Group A Betong together with Limbang, Serian and Samarahan divisions while, Group B comprises three teams namely Bintulu, Mukah and Sibu in the absence of Kapit.
Group C is made up of Kuching, Sarikei, Sri Aman and Miri division. For the women category, Betong, Samarahan, Miri and Sri Aman division are in Group A.
Group B comprise Limbang, Kuching and Sibu division with the absence of Kapit.
Group C consist of Serian, Bintulu, Mukah and Sarikei division.
