KAPIT: The army field hospital here which has been operational since Monday (May 10) received its first patient brought in for a follow-up treatment.
A spokesman from the First Infantry Division said the hospital began operating at 2.30pm with 38 soldiers, including three medical officers and assisted by four medical staff from Kapit Hospital.
Their first patient was brought in from Kapit Hospital for a follow-up treatment post-pus removal surgery.
The field hospital, functioning as a treatment centre for non-Covid-19 patients, is able to accommodate 40 beds and patients a time.
However, its capacity can be increased if required.
The Kapit army field hospital is expected to operate for three months, subject to the current conditions and needs.
