KUCHING: A man from Kapit was found dead in a motel room at Jalan Song Thien Cheok here, yesterday.
District Police chief ACP Awang Din Awang Gani said the 39-year-old man identified as Francis Sigai was discovered lying face down outside the toilet of the room by an employee of the motel.
Police were informed of the discovery at 11am and paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
“We found medication in the victim’s room and believed that he suffered from cardiac arrest. There is no foul play in this case,” he said when contacted.
The remains have been brought to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) mortuary where post-mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death.
“The case has been classified as sudden death,” Awang added.
