SIBU: Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi announced that he will resign as Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) deputy president at the triennial general assembly (TGA) to be held on March 9.

According to him, after seven years with SDNU since 2012, it is time to give way to younger people.

“I have discussed with the SDNU president about the matter.

“Although I no longer hold the highest position in SDNU, I am ready to assist this union as I am still a member,” he said at the opening of SDNU Sibu House in Taman Bougenvilla, Jalan Ulu Oya here yesterday.

Alexander expressed his gratitude to members who had helped him to lift up the dignity of SDNU throughout his involvement.

He spoke of his appointment as special advisor to the Chief Minister’s Office by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg recently.

“My job is to help Johari in terms of development in rural areas.”
