KOTA SAMARAHAN: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice president Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah welcomes any potential candidate from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) to contest in the 13th Sarawak Election.

He challenged PKR Sarawak strategic director Iswardy Morni to ‘bring it on’ if he intends to contest in the next state election.

“Currently, at the national level, we are together in the Unity government. Well, from what we can see. It is not about PKR at the national level, but about PKR in the state.

“There are some… Hati busuk mereka itu’ (There is a sense of bitterness from them,” he said.

He said this to reporters after officiating the Baton Relay programme in conjunction with 21st Sukma and Para Sukma at the Summer Shopping Mall here today (June 22).

Abdul Karim was asked to comment on Iswardy’s recent remarks, saying that PKR Sarawak is prepared to contest in the next state election.

The Asajaya assemblyman went on to say that previously, he had waited for Iswardy to contest in the Asajaya seat.

“In the past, I also waited for Iswardy to contest in Asajaya, but he did not.. If he truly wishes to contest, he can also bring others to contest.

“If he (Iswardy) is eager to contest, then go ahead, Sarawak is always ready,” he said.

Despite this, Abdul Karim expressed his trust in the PKR central leadership.

“But I believe the top leaders of PKR, especially the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, is not like Iswardy,” he said.
