MUKAH: Kaul Mukah has been included in the Sarawak Tourism Calendar to preserve as well as promote the heritage and cultural treasures of the Melanau community.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the festival holds out much potential to attract local and foreign tourists.

“We already know that the tourism sector is an important contributor to the country’s economic growth.

“Therefore, local residents should make the most of this opportunity as it will help generate income through the sale of their respective products.

“In the future, we are targeting more visitors from outside the Mukah area to attend this festival,” he said.
