KUCHING: Nurfarah Wahida Abdul Halim, 23, started her business when she was 18 years old in 2018.

“I was interested in baking cakes and making desserts since childhood,” she told New Sarawak Tribune.

“So I began this business, sending orders during the day, preparing orders at night without help. All this from my home,” she related.

“I would promote it through Facebook and Instagram,” she added.

She has faced many challenges, especially during the pandemic. Some of the obstacles included sourcing for materials and funding.

She never gave up though because she wanted “to support myself and my family during Covid-19.”

“The price depends on customer request. Different customer, different request.

“My daily routine would be buying materials, taking orders, cash on delivery to customers and promoting sales on social media,” she added.

She is grateful because there are people who never tire of giving her encouragement and support , especially her family members and regular customers.
