KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing is disappointed with Barisan Nasional secretary-general Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz over his controversial speech in Semenyih.

Nazri was slammed for being “racist” while campaigning in the Semenyih by-election.

Masing said all races needed to be united to build up Malaysia, and no one was indispensable.

“In a political crisis such as this, cool heads should prevail,” he said.
He said MCA and MIC leaders should also keep their cool when seeking a solution to misunderstanding among political leaders in Malaysia as “everyone needs each other.”
Nazri told MCA and MIC to leave Barisan Nasional if they wish to do so after both slammed Nazri for making the remarks.

Nazri said with MCA and MIC leaving the coalition, it would not be a loss to BN. He added that BN was prepared to work with PAS.
