DEBAK: Saribas assemblyman Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam hopes the contractor undertaking the construction of a new mosque here will be able to maintain the momentum of work.
According to the Deputy Minister of Women, Children and Community Welfare Development, residents here are expected to use the new mosque in early 2026.
“I was told by the implementing agency, the Department of Islamic Religion, Betong Division, that the contractor has so far performed well.
“The project status is estimated to be 20 per cent complete, which is according to schedule.
“Therefore, I expect the contractor to maintain the momentum of work so that the mosque worth RM12 million can be completed within 18 months,” he said.
He said this after presenting the Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant to the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and the Mosque and Surau Management Committee (JKP) in the Saribas constituency, yesterday.
At the ceremony he presented MRP grants amounting to RM505,000 to 36 JKKK, 14 mosques and 25 surau.
The officer in charge of the Debak Sub-District Office Muhammad Hafiz Kepli and the Betong Division Temenggung Pi’ee Alwi were also present.
