BINTULU: Visitors who come to relax with their families at Tanjung Batu Beach are reminded to keep the surrounding area clean after the picnic.

Samalaju assemblyman Majang Renggi said the public should be more responsible and not leave rubbish at the recreational area.

“Taking care and preserving the cleanliness of the environment such as the beach is not only the responsibility of the local authority, but it is also the responsibility of everyone especially the visitors,” he said.

He said this when officiating at the “Bintulu D ‘Hati: Gotong-Royong Programme” in conjunction with Bintulu district-level Teachers Day 2020 celebration.

Therefore, he said, the public played an important role in maintaining the beach’s image by always practising environmental hygiene so that it could attract more foreign tourists to come to Bintulu town.

This programme was part of the Teacher’s Day 2020 celebration of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kidurong, here.
