MUKAH: Keleput 4 emerged champion of Lumba Pesaug Perahu Bakoung (Traditional Boat) Race held at Kampung Tellian here, over the weekend. In second spot in the Bakoung King 2017 category was Base 9, with third place taken by Dandan Setia Satu.
In the Mixed Champion category of this 3rd Edition of Pesaug Salui Bakoung, the winner was Base 9 while Keleput 4 and Dewata Raya were second and third respectively.
Meanwhile, Pancha Delima out-paddled other boats to win the Marathon 6 PaddlerCategory. The water sport was held in conjunction with the Tellian Constituency Tuju Nokala Fun Run 2017 which attracted over 200 runners.
Officiated by Tellian Assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo, the boat event was centred infront of St. Anthony’s Chapel. The fun run also featured other events. Besides the boat race on Sungai Tellian, there were stage performances, a Christmas light competition and others.
