ASAJAYA: The Community Development Department or Kemas offers an array of programmes designed to stimulate and develop the minds of individuals across all age groups.
Sarawak Kemas director Khairuddin Md Nasir explained that the programmes encompassed Early Childhood Education (PAK), Skills Development (PKEM) and Community Initiatives (PKOM).
“These programmes are effective in engaging and nurturing the minds of the community. I urge the residents to make the most of the nearly 30 programmes organized by Kemas, catering to children, youth and adults alike.
“One notable programme, the Iqrak Ulul Quran, saw the participation of 250 residents from 25 classes in Asajaya and Muara Tuang,” he said during the Iqrak Ulul Quran celebration in conjunction with the Maal Hijrah 1455 festivities Kampung Moyan Laut recently.
He commended the guidance provided by the Community Developers of Kemas Human Development Class and emphasised the significance of continuously striving to master the knowledge of the Quran while integrating its teachings into daily life.
Most of the participants in the Khatam programme in Kota Samarahan were women, including housewives, retirees and elderly individuals attending the Kemas Human Development Class.
Khairuddin explained that the Islamic Greatness Day is an activity organised by the Kemas Community Division to raise community awareness and promote the implementation of the programme’s guidance and advice.
The event was graced by the presence of representatives from various authorities, including Asajaya District Officer Hasanah Bujang, Temenggong Chek Bujang, Moyan Laut Hulu headman Ramli Sahari and Samarahan City Human Development Programme class chairman Jama Baylai.
