KUCHING: Thirty street lights have been installed at Kampung Malaysia Jaya, says Semariang assemblywoman Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.

The RM111,929 initiative is under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP).

“The initiative was implemented by Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) and it was necessary due to the increase in population and social problems, especially among youth in the area.

“It is to address the social problems at Kampung Malaysia Jaya and today, we are here to hand over the street lights and the upgraded multipurpose hall,” she said after officiating at the ceremony today.

Sharifah Hasidah added that the upgrading work of the multipurpose hall took less than 120 days.

“The cost of the project is RM200,000.”
