PUSA: The breakwater project at Kampung Semarang is scheduled to begin as early as March or April.
Batang Lupar MP Mohamad Shafizan Kepli viewed Kampung Semarang’s erosion problem seriously.
“Two days ago, I spoke with the Department of Irrigation and Drainage about the matter with Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor.
“A breakwater measuring more than 300m at a cost of RM6.5mil will be built.
“It is possible that construction work will start as early as March or April,” he said.
He said this yesterday (Feb 1) after officiating at the SMK Pusa Excellent Student and Form Six Graduation Ceremony.
Tidal waves had slammed the shores of Kampung Semarang recently, causing damage and residents had voiced their concerns.
