KUCHING: KGMRxSENTINELS triumphed 5-3 over Sempurna Jaya FC in the final of the Raja Futsal Machan Edisi 2, securing their second victory in the prestigious competition at the Kanowit Sports Complex Indoor Stadium.
25-year-old futsal star, Faezal Tairini, expressed his excitement and surprise after the win. “It felt amazing, but I’m also a bit shocked. I didn’t expect to have win, especially after our tough beginning,” the KGMRxSENTINELS player said.
The team faced a challenging group stage, losing their first match and ending in a draw for the second. However, they bounced back, securing a crucial win in their third match that set them on the path to victory.
“The group stage was tough. After the first game, we had to fight back. But we stayed focused, and with the team’s energy, we clinched the win in the third match. That was the turning point for us,” Faezal reflected.
KGMRxSENTINELS’ tactical brilliance and player choices proved key as they defeated Sempurna Jaya FC in the final. Along with the championship trophy, they earned RM10,000 in prize money.
Faezal credited the win to the team’s strategy and teamwork: “Without my teammates, this victory wouldn’t have been possible. We all came together and fought for the win.”
With the trophy in hand, Faezal is already focused on the next challenge, looking ahead to future successes.
