MIRI: Seven junior golfers from Miri Golf Club (KGM) will represent the Sarawak in the upcoming 2023 Malaysian School Sports Council (MSSM) tournament from September 19 to 21.

Out of the 18 golfers from Sarawak participating in the event, seven hail from Miri, seven from Kuching, and four from Bintulu. These participants are grouped by age categories: 12, 15, and 18.

On Friday, Miri Golf Club president, Sunny Ting Yong Kong, alongside Kenny Ronald Ngalin, sponsored jerseys and handed the Sarawak flag to the seven chosen junior golfers.

The competition will take place across two venues: the Universiti Pertanian Malaysia (UPM) Golf Club will host the boys, while the girl golfers will play at the Danau Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Golf Club.

Also present were Sarawak Education Department Golf technique and Sports Development chairman Cuali Ulai, KGM Secretary Perry Lim Hock Soon, KGM’s executive committee Ling Yii Chern, KGM’s golf professional Abdul Samat Abu, and the senior assistant of co-curriculum at SK Jalan Bintang Miri Mohamad Zulfaizee Mohamad.
