KUCHING: The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) paid tribute to the media for its contribution tp society.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) director Datuk Khirudin Drahman said the media has maintained its relevance in spreading news of disasters and initiatives from the State Fire and Rescue Operations Centre (Bomba).

“The media has succeeded in translating Bomba’s efforts to the public. It has translated Bomba’s services to the community which means that we have fulfilled the community’s expectation.

“This is in line with Bomba’s aim and this will maintain the safety of our country,” he told reporters after the Bomba Sarawak appreciation ceremony at the Bomba Sarawak headquarters, today (Dec 30).

Khirudin said that Bomba aims to create a culture that incorporates safety and inclusivity, stressing that ensuring fire safety is only possible when everyone is involved – the different agencies and departments, both government and private sectors.

Adding further, he pointed out Bomba continues to be ever-ready in serving the community and hopes that Bomba’s presence will continue to be felt by the community.
