KUCHING: Daeloniel McDelon Bong, better known as Kilat Boy, secured victory in the World Boxing Confederation (WBC) Asia Super Bantamweight category after defeating his Thai opponent, Yutthichai Wannawong.

The historic moment unfolded last night as the Sarawak native achieved a technical knockout (TKO) victory over his opponent in the fifth round.

Amidst the roar of over 4,000 supporters at the Indoor Stadium last night, Kilat Boy and Yutthichai engaged in a fierce battle from the opening bell.

The speed and agility of Kilat Boy with powerful punches to his opponent’s body and head saw Yutthichai fall multiple times, though he persisted in the fight.

Ultimately, Yutthichai conceded defeat in the fifth round, unable to continue, leading the referee to halt the match and declare Kilat Boy the undisputed winner.

“I feel very happy with this victory tonight in my home state. All the efforts and sacrifices that I made have paid off.

“What I’ve been dreaming of for years has come true and I dedicate this victory to Malaysia and Sarawak in particular.
