KAPIT: Tutors of Chung Hua Kindergarten Kapit received a one month bonus from the board of management that was held to coincide with a new year dinner at Happy Garden Restaurant at Jalan Bletih here on Monday evening.
Board of management chairman Sii Bang Ee said that the new year dinner at the beginning of the year is one of its annual activities to welcome back pupils and tutors to school and to also celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year (CNY).
“At our recent board of management meeting, we have decided to hand out one month bonus to all tutors. This is to appreciate their commitment towards providing excellent education to the pupils over the past year,” said Sii.
Present together at the gathering were headmistress Cassy Yong, assistant headmistress Kong Sien Ching, and board members Kapitan Yiap Yii Hoo, Kong Sien Jong, Kong Sien Hua, Kong Siew Kim, Stanley Ling Bee Chong, Shia Weng Kwong and David Wong Hau Ching.
Earlier in the morning, the children received ang pow and mandarin oranges from the board of management.
Meanwhile, Hock Ing Methodist Kindergarten also organised a new year dinner at a local restaurant for all its tutors and board of directors to celebrate the new year, as well as a pre-CNY celebration.
Present together at the gathering were headmistress Wong Su Zin, board of directors chairman Tiong Ping, Pastor Hii Siang Cheng and Methodist Social Welfare Committee chairman Ting King Yiing.
