BETONG: The Sarawak government introduced the Female Head of Household Micro Assistance (KIRWaS) amounting to RM500 for female head of household (KIR) or single mother.
Deputy Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Mohammad Razi Sitam said KIRWaS aimed to empower Sarawakian women, especially KIR or single mothers, to create opportunities to generate income.
“In this carnival series, the ministry through the Sarawak Women and Family Department (JWKS) introduced a new business assistance initiative, which is KIRWaS Micro Assistance, in the form of cash amounting to RM500,” he said.
The Saribas assemblyman said this at the Sarawak Women’s Career Carnival Series Three in Betong on Tuesday (July 26).

“Sarawakian women aged 18 years and above, who are single mothers or KIR, have a household income between RM2,500 and RM4,849 and are not beneficiaries of welfare assistance schemes.”
