KUCHING: The Kuala Lumpur Maksak bowling team made a memorable trip to the State capital when they emerged overall champions of the Maksak Tenpin Bowling Championship 2019 held at Megalanes E-Mart Batu Kawa here from Jan 24 to 27 2019.
The team took home RM1,200 cash prize, trophy and medals.
Nurakmal bin Ramli and Mohd Zul Fauzi bin Mohamed Sawal from Perlis were champions in the men’s doubles category while Siti Radziah Abdul Sahar and Fauziah Kamari emerged winners in the women’s doubles.
Kuala Lumpur bowlers comprising Adrian Ang Hsien Loong, Muhammad Amin bin Tun Ibrahim and Muhammad Amirul Afif bin Mohamed Nasir finished as champions in the men’s trio category.
In the women’s trio, Siti Zubaidah Bachok, Nurul Atikah Junaidi and Nurul Atiqah Ahmad from Johor came up as the champions.
In the Masters event, Adrian Ang Hsien Loong topped the competition with 1,144 pinfalls followed by Syimir bin Abdul Razak from Selangor and Mohd Zul Fauzi respectively with 1,074 and 1,013 pinfalls. Sarawak’s Nazrin bin Wagiman only managed to finish in ninth placing with 863 pinfalls.
The women’s Masters was won by Perak’s Nur Fatin Syahirah bte Shamsul Baharin (940 pinfalls) while Nurul Atiqah Ahmad (933 pinfalls) finished second and Siti Nuratikah binti Mohd Ahkuan was third with (903 pinfalls). Nurafidza binti Mohd Amran from Sarawak ended in 10th placing with 780 pinfalls.
Sarawak only finished as champions in the mixed doubles event through Nazrin and Nurafidza binti Mohd Amran.
Interestingly, Mohd Ayub bin Kamaruddin from Perak, 58, won the most senior men’s bowler award while Hasmila binti Ariffin, 59, from Negeri Sembilan received the most senior women’s bowler award.
Meanwhile, Sarawak’s bowler Nazrin won the men’s Hi-Game as well as the Perfect Games award while Nurul Atiqah Ahmad again won the women’s Hi-Game.
In other competitions, Kamarulzaman Ab Ghani won the coach and manager category while Faiz Miza won the Maksak category and Haji Kamalludin Haji Jama won the VIP Invitational event.
The closing ceremony was officiated by Deputy State Secretary Datuk Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki (standing 2nd row centre) who represented the State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Morshidi bin Abdul Ghani.
