LUNDU: Voters in Mas Gading have been advised to “choose the right candidate” after witnessing a lull period in the constituency in the last five years.
Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) director of operation for Mas Gading Datuk Henry Harry Jinep said that the rakyat need to understand and know which candidate or party is capable of taking care of their wellbeing.
“As this is the sixth day of our election campaign here, I am grateful that the people are giving their utmost support to our candidate.
“With this, we will continue our efforts to attract all the voters to support GPS,” he said, adding that their campaign will continue until the polling day in Mas Gading, Bau and Stenggang which will be attended by the Premier on Nov 16.
He was speaking to reporters after attending the Majlis Pemimpin Bersama Rakyat at Dewan Kampung Pasir Hulu, here yesterday (Nov 11).
Henry noted that there are now many non-GPS supporters supporting the party instead of the opposition.
“There are a lot of opposition supporters who are now giving their support to us. This is something positive as they feel that they have been betrayed for the last five years.
“For them to support us here shows that the development projects carried out in Tasik Biru and Opar constituencies under the GPS government are not mere empty promises.
“Looking at Opar, its assemblyman Billy Sujang had only been elected for 10 months and he managed to bring development to his constituency,” he said.
