KUCHING: Measuring engagement metrics on Facebook is crucial for understanding audience reactions, said Malaysian Press Institute (MPI) trainer Munir Anaam.
“Engagement is the core of Facebook presence, and analysing these metrics is essential before content creation,” he said during his talk titled ‘Leveraging Social Media in Engagement with the Community/Public’ at the Sarawak Media Conference (SMeC) 2024 held at a hotel here on Sunday.
“A high engagement rate indicates your post resonates well with the audience. You must look into these small metrics to create content,” he added.
Munir also noted the necessity of tracking followers’ demographics on Facebook to better understand the audience.
“I think it is not good if your Facebook is like a newsroom or a news site and you are trying to post all the big content. It is important to follow the demographics,” he said.
Another crucial element Munir highlighted was the need to consider content readout when developing a content strategy.
“More data also needs to be analysed so that you can know which content people like and which content they dislike. You must study to know which social media platform they came from, so you can provide insights into which platforms are driving the most effective traffic,” he added.
