KUCHING: Surau Darul Taqwa in Kampung Bintawa Ulu here has received a contribution of RM6,000 for its minor rural project (MRP) Phase 1.
 
The assistance was distributed among the surau’s village security and development committee (JKKK) by Santubong Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri today (April 7).
 
Additionally, a separate donation of RM6,200 was also made for education purposes.
 
During a visit to the surau, Nancy, who is also the federal Women, Family, and Community Development Minister, reiterated her commitment to the continued development of education in the constituency.
 
To this end, she presented a donation for students of public and private institutions of higher learning.
 
In a Facebook post, Nancy said, “My activities today began with a visit to Surau Darul Taqwa in Kampung Bintawa Ulu.
 
“I am pleased to present a contribution for MRP Phase 1 to the recipients, which comprise the surau’s JKKK.
 
“I (also) hope the donation for the students can help our children succeed in their studies and achieve great success. InsyaAllah.”
 
The donations are expected to support the ongoing development of the surau and contribute to the education of young people in the Santubong parliamentary constituency.
