MUKAH: Kampung Sungai Alo fire victims received a donation of RM5,112 from the Setia Raja Mosque through its Tabung Seruan Bantuan Kebakaran yesterday (March 3).
The victims also received basic necessities in addition to financial assistance.
Also distributed at the event was a contribution from Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib, Deputy Minister of Economy, and Mukah Member of Parliament.
The donation was presented by a Mukah Service Centre officer to Seliman Drahman, the owner of the house involved in the fiery incident, which happened at Kampung Sungai Alo Resettlement Scheme on March 1.
The mosque’s spokesperson acknowledged each donation in turn and prayed for them to get larger rewards in the afterlife.
Meanwhile, people are welcome to donate used clothes and basic goods by delivering them to the Setia Raja Mosque.
For information, a total of seven children who are still in school are among the victims of the fire; one of them is in preschool, three are in primary school, two are in secondary school, and one is in Form Six.
In the meantime, Seliman thanked everyone who has helped them, either financially or with basic necessities.
