KUCHING: Kucei’s Kitchen 7th Mile has issued an official statement extending an apology in response to a recent social media controversy involving a family member’s reaction to constructive criticism.
The controversy arose when Facebook user Jong Shiau Chin shared feedback about their famous Rojak Kucei at Batu Lintang.
The viral post on Facebook showcased a less-than-ideal response to Jong’s feedback, drawing attention to the business in an unexpected manner.
As such, Kucei’s Kitchen 7th Mile has issued an apology to Jong for any discomfort caused by the unwarranted reaction.
Acknowledging Jong’s critique as constructive, the management of Kucei’s Kitchen 7th Mile emphasised that the expressed views in the response do not reflect the establishment’s values.
“We acknowledge that the comment was made in good faith and should be regarded as constructive criticism.
“At Kucei’s Kitchen 7th Mile, we do not share the same opinion as the individual who responded, and we deeply regret any inconvenience caused,” they said in a Facebook post.
The statement further clarified that, despite being family members, each brother operates as a separate business entity with distinct management styles.
“Each business stands independently, and we appreciate your understanding in recognising the differences between our operations,” the statement added.
Expressing gratitude for continued patronage, the management extended an olive branch to Jong by inviting her and her family to their restaurant in 7th Mile for a complimentary meal.
“We would love for you to try our take on our late father’s famous Rojak Kucei.”
Towards this end, Kucei’s Kitchen 7th Mile hoped that their proactive approach would help rebuild trust with their valued patrons and reaffirm their dedication to delivering a memorable dining experience.
