KUCHING: A childcare centre associated with Global Ikhwan Service and Business Holding (GISBH) in this city is currently under investigation by the police.

Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said the Sarawak Social Welfare Department (JKMS) has agreed to collaborate with the police regarding the recent investigations into Global Ikhwan Service and Business Holding (GISBH).

“For Kuching, we have previously monitored a facility known as Pusat Jagaan Nur Murni. It was registered in 2014, and its operational permit was valid for five years.

“After that, it needed to be renewed, but what happened was they took the renewal form but did not return it.

“When we look at the sequence of events in the records under JKM, they have moved from one location to another. But anyway, this case is currently under police investigation, so we will allow the police to carry out their investigation,” she said.

Fatimah made these remarks in response to a reporter’s question after officiating the Para SUKMA Sports Village here last night (Sept 20).

She added that further records from JKMS indicate that another childcare centre associated with GISBH is currently operating in Miri.

Fatimah also revealed that the childcare centre in Miri primarily serves asnaf (needy) children and orphans.
