KUCHING: Sarawak Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin presented grants totalling RM20,000 to the management committee of Kuching Chung Hua Primary School No.1-6 on Wednesday (July 20).
“The money will be used for the extension project of Kuching Chung Hua Primary School No. 2. This project involves a new four-storey 18-classroom block, and a new multipurpose hall,” said chairman Jonathan Chai Voon Tok.
He added that the project had recently been completed and the occupation permit had been approved by the Kuching South City Council (MBKS).
“Once school reopens, students will be able to use the new classrooms, including new science labs, canteen and the multipurpose hall for assembly as well sport activities,” he said while thanking Lee for his continued support of Chinese schools in Sarawak.
The presentation ceremony was witnessed by the school board’s deputy chairman Lau Kim Swee together with its vice-chairman Teo Kwang Hock, and secretary-general Rodger Chan Siong Boh.
