KUCHING: Kuching City FC (KCFC) have advanced to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
They thrashed M3 League side Perlis United FC 3-0 at Stadium Tuanku Syed Putra in Kangar on Tuesday night.
Abu Kamara put the visitors in front through a penalty kick in the 18th minute of the game. Amir Amri Salleh then made it 2-0 with a strike in the 33rd minute.
Aylton Alemao made sure of progress to the next round with his goal in the 57th minute.
“Delighted with the boys’ commitment throughout the match.
“More importantly, we are into the quarter-finals. A great achievement by the players and staff,” coach Irfan Bakti Abu Salim told Arena Suara Sarawak.
“I hope that this superb result will boost the players as we move into the knockout stages.
“We are back to focusing on the Premier League after this.
“Kuching City will play Kelantan United FC at Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV this Friday.”
