KUCHING: Kuching City North Commission (DBKU) in collaboration with Kuching City South Council (MBKS) will organise Kuching City Street Parade with the theme ‘Unity in Diversity’ in conjunction with 29th Kuching City Day Celebration on 12 August 2017 (Saturday), starting 6.00pm, infront Hilton Hotel, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, here.
The programme will be attended by the Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Johari Tun Abang Haji Openg and his wife Datin Amar Dato Hajjah Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Haji Bujang as well as Tuan Yang Terutama Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Hajjah Raghad Kurdi Taib.
The programme is held to boost tourism industry for Kuching City where the city is one of the desired destinations in Malaysia by domestic and foreign tourists.
Beside, the programme is also aimed to foster spirit of unity among city folks through joint involvement through the Kuching City Street Parade and is most appropriate with Kuching icon as the first City Of Unity in Malaysia.
This time around Kuching City Street Parade is offerring prizes totalling RM28,000.00 and are as follows

Meanwhile, Kuching City Street Parade this time will be different as DBKU and MBKS for the first time will come up with a new category i.e Decorated motor vehicles parade.

Therefore, all governmenta/ Private, non-government organisations, public institutions of higher learning (IPTA) and private institutions of higher learnings and also primary schools/ secondary schools in Kuching city and its surrounding areas are invited to participate in Kuching City Street Parade that will be held on 12 August 2017 (Saturday).

The participation fee for each category is RM120.00.
