KUCHING: The Sarawak Society for Parents of Children with Special Needs (PIBAKAT) now has a more comfortable place to enjoy in. This is thanks to 35 police personnel who were involved in a welfare programme run by the Kuching district police headquarters (IPD).

The team from the welfare division of IPD Kuching recently came to help and enliven the PIBAKAT area, as part of their welfare programme ‘Sentuhan Kasih’, which was done for the first time this year.

According to Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah, the programme is a continuation activity organised by the IPD Kuching from last year, and also in conjunction with the 216th Police Day.

“This programme gives us the opportunity as policemen to contribute socially to the welfare centres which need assistance.

“This programme is the first one organised together with PIBAKAT. This year we have decided to contribute socially and help in terms of welfare and this place is one of them,” he told reporters after officiating at the ‘Sentuhan Kasih’ programme at PIBAKAT in Jalan Ridgeway here yesterday.

He also took the opportunity to thank PIBAKAT for hosting the programme, and despite the rainy weather, the goal to provide cleanliness and colour to the place has been achieved.
