KUCHING: The Sarawak Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government through the respective local authority (PBT) will carry out a rabies operation from May 8 to 12.
The PBTs involved are Kuching North City Hall (DBKU), Kuching South City Council (MBKS) and Padawan Municipal Council (MPP).
As of May, nine cases of rabies have been recorded throughout Sarawak, with seven fatalities.
The public are advised to ensure that their pet dogs are inside the house during the operation.
If a pet dog is outside and is caught, the dog will not be returned as stated in the Veterinary Public Health Ordinance, 1999.
